Solas Energy Consulting is recruiting a Renewable Energy Engineer to join our Canadian team immediately. We are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, a love of learning, and a passion for sustainability. This position is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of professional experience, who enjoys technical problem-solving, renewable energy modelling, project development support, and translating complex technical information into clear advice for clients.

The successful candidate will support the development, engineering, permitting, and evaluation of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects (BESS). The role will combine renewable energy modelling, technical development support, site and constraints analysis, engineering review, due diligence review, regulatory and environmental technical support, and selected project-management responsibilities.

Candidates with experience in utility-scale solar or BESS modelling, renewable energy project development, permitting support, GIS-based constraints analysis, and technical due diligence are highly desirable. Experience with PVSyst, BESS performance modelling, ForgeSolar, QGIS or ArcGIS is particularly valuable. Familiarity with Canadian renewable energy development and regulatory processes, particularly in Alberta, Ontario, or British Columbia, is preferred. We are looking for candidates who bring hands-on industry experience. While academic achievements are valued, this role requires practical, real-world project exposure beyond graduate studies or summer placements. The Engineer will also support selected ESG, GHG, life-cycle assessment, and other advisory work as required. Excellent communication, technical writing, analytical judgement, and attention to detail are essential.

At Solas Energy, clients trust us to deliver timely advice so they can make the best decisions possible for their projects.
