Solas Energy Consulting Names New Project Management and Consulting Services Leads
FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, USA and CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, May 18, 2021 — Solas Energy Consulting Inc., a provider of comprehensive energy solutions, today announced the new hire of Dr. Maureen Kolla as Project Manager for the company’s operations in Canada and promotion of Kali Anderson to the role of Manager of Consulting Services for its operations based in the US.
In her new role as Project Manager, Dr. Maureen Kolla will serve as the primary contact for select clients, providing in-depth oversight of Solas’ clean technology projects focused on grid modernization, energy storage, electric vehicles, and hydrogen.

Dr. Kolla previously served as Director of Renewable Energy at Alberta Innovates, where she led the Renewable and Alternative Energy Program and managed initiatives to advance clean energy technologies in Alberta. She founded and chaired the Alberta Smart Grid Consortium, which consists of the Alberta Distribution Facility Owners, Alberta Ministry of Energy, and Alberta Innovates. The Consortium’s mission is to work collaboratively to understand the impacts and opportunities of grid modernization solutions to meet the current and evolving needs of Alberta electricity consumers.
Dr. Kolla has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta, and a MASc and PhD specializing in fluid mechanics modelling from Ryerson University. Dr. Kolla also serves on the Board of Directors of GreenLearning Foundation Canada, a not-for-profit focused on promoting free environmental education and STEAM programs for students and educators across Canada.
In her new position as Manager of Consulting Services, Kali Anderson will oversee the US team’s delivery of project siting, environmental compliance, development, due diligence, and operations services for renewable energy projects. She will also focus on growing Solas’s consulting offerings for our clients throughout the United States. Anderson’s background includes a broad portfolio of utility-scale and commercial/industrial wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects.

Anderson holds a BSc in Geology and Geography from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and a MSc in Geology from the University of South Florida. With 15 years of experience working on projects targeting renewable energy management, environmental permitting, compliance, and environmental remediation, Anderson is well positioned to lead Solas as it expands its services supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects throughout the US. Anderson also serves on the Board of Directors for Real and Renewable, a non-profit organization focused on expanding renewable energy education and implementation throughout Minnesota.
